England players celebrate after overcoming Denmark to reach the Euro 2020 final

Football is officially one step away from coming home after England downed Denmark at Wembley last night to seal a spot in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final against Italy.

We’ve got all the fallout from last night’s game covered, along with our regular transfer round-ups and the latest from Wimbledon.

England make history

England will end a 55-year wait for a major tournament final on Sunday after coming from behind to beat a spirited Denmark 2-1 after extra-time.

A fantastic Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick put Kasper Hjulmand’s underdogs in front on the half-hour but England were quickly level when Simon Kjaer turned Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own goal.

There was no separating the sides in the remainder of normal time but Harry Kane’s 104th minute strike — following in a penalty that he had seen saved by Kasper Schmeichel — was enough to clinch a famous victory for the Three Lions at a raucous Wembley.
