Leicester City will be hoping to kick off their Europa League campaign with a win when they host Ukrainian outfit Zorya on Thursday night.

Zorya are unbeaten in four domestic games but only one of those has been a win, meaning they have just six points to their name after six matches in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Leicester’s last foray into European competition saw them win all three of their Champions League home-ground group stage matchesin 2016-17, and they are 1/3(1.33) with bet365 to take three points here.

Zorya won two of their four games when they played in the group stages of the Europa league in 2017-18 but are 9/1(10.0) outsiders to stun the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

The Ukrainian side have drawn three of their six Premier League matches this season and another stalemate is available at 4/1(5.0).

Caglar Soyuncu is out for three months with an adductor injury whilst this fixture comes too soon for Jamie Vardy, who has a calf issue but is expected to return for Leicester’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

Bohdan Lyednyev was Zorya’s top scorer last season but has returned to parent club Dynamo Kiev.

It looked as if Leicester would be back in the Champions League this season after spending much of last in the top four, but a disastrous finish meant they were forced to settle for the Europa League.

Nevertheless, Brendan Rodgers will surely target a deep run in the competition and after consecutive defeats in the Premier League, a home match against a struggling side provides the perfect impetus for getting their campaign back on track.

It is not just that Zorya have only won one domestic match all season, but the visit to Leicester represents a roundtrip of over 3,500 miles and that could have a negative impact on the Ukrainian side.

Even without Vardy, Leicester should have few problems against a team with just one clean sheet this season and bet365’s price of 2.250 on -1.5, -2.0 on the Asian Handicap looks the best value bet for the Europa League clash.

This will pay out in full if the Foxes win by three or more clear goals, whilst a victory by two will see half the stake paid out in full and the other half returned.
